Secular History – Ideologies Shape History

However, in the Secular Humanist view of history, humans in and of themselves do not shape history; rather their ideologies do. Ideologies evolve, and certain ideologies are more effective than others in realizing change at different stages of history. Huxley says, “Major steps in the human phase of evolution are achieved by breakthroughs to new dominant patterns of mental organization, of knowledge, ideas and beliefs—ideological instead of physiological or biological organization.”1

Secular History – Christianity is an Outdated and Outmoded Ideology
The implication is that Christianity, an ideology that effectively shaped history at some time in the past, is now outdated and outmoded and cannot address modern problems. The ideology of Secular Humanism is the breakthrough ideology for today.
